"In my artistic work I mainly confront science's form and content. In doing so, I use artistic and scientific methods to deal with a theme in a complex way. The play with fact and fiction constitutes an essential element in this. I thus founded the Institut für Wissenschaft und Forschung (Institute for Science and Research) in 1999, where a series of fictional scientists are employed. In my works, I am concerned primarily with these characters, their lives and their works, and I attempt to pull them from the realm of fiction through the collection of photographs, personal objects, sketches, manuscripts, etc., and make them potential facts. The physicist Prof V. Krylov emerged in this way along with ADAM, Prof Merkel, and C. Fouche. Since the IWF defines itself as an institution situated between art and science, there are also references to art within this cosmos of scientific figures, which are personified mainly by the artist C.I. Brom."
Since 2002 I am conducting a project on the life and work of the artist C.I. Brom (1931-1997). Since Brom repeatedly lived in Milano, I concentrated on his relationship with this town in the past few months . Under this aspect I spent some time within the past months in Milano in order to look for his traces in this town. The findings of this archeological activity are now for the first time being presented t o the public.
